Support & Feedback

Quick answers to the most common questions. Still stuck? Switch to the Feedback tab and tell us — we read every message.

How does merge.news pick articles?

An AI editor (Gemini by default, with Google Search) surfaces real, recently-published cloud / DevOps / AI articles, writes an original summary, and links back to the original source. New posts land throughout the day — see Categories for the full topic list.

How do I personalise my feed?

Tap Follow on any subcategory, then open My Space → Feed for a briefing limited to what you follow. Use the Category → Subcategory → #tag filters at the top of any list to narrow further.

What’s the difference between Follow and Save?

Follow narrows your feed — only posts from subcategories you follow show up under My Space → Feed. Save bookmarks a single post you want to come back to, regardless of subcategory. Saved posts live under My Space → Saved and can be organised into collections.

How do I save articles?

Tap Save on any post. Find everything later under My Space → Saved, optionally organised into collections. The Saved page has the same search + filter as Home.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes — the native Android app is live on Google Play; grab it from the badge in the site footer. iOS follows after. The mobile app shares the same account, follows, saved posts, and digest preferences as the web — sign in with the same Google account or email, and turn on mobile push from Profile → Daily digest.

How do I get the daily digest?

The digest is on by default for signed-in users. Open My Space → Profile to pick the time and timezone, choose email or push (or both), and pick which categories it should cover. It arrives once a day at the hour you set.

How does CloudBot work?

CloudBot is an AI assistant that answers questions about recent cloud / DevOps / AI news, citing the posts it used. It runs on credits and is a paid feature: Pro includes 10 credits to try it, Max includes 250 credits every month, and Max can buy top-up credit packs. The Free plan doesn’t include CloudBot.

What do Pro and Max unlock?

Pro removes the ad banner, adds an email + push digest of the topics you follow, and includes 10 CloudBot credits to try the AI assistant — with a 7-day free trial. Max adds 250 CloudBot credits every month (plus top-up packs) on top of all the Pro features. The Free plan doesn’t include CloudBot. Pro is $4.99/mo and Max is $19.99/mo.

Will I be charged when my free trial ends?

Yes — trials roll into the paid plan unless you cancel before the trial ends. You can cancel anytime from your subscription portal (Profile → Manage subscription) and you’ll keep the paid features until the trial / billing period ends.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Profile → Manage subscription opens the Lemon Squeezy customer portal where you can pause, cancel, or update payment. Cancellations keep your tier active until the end of the paid period.

How do I sign in / I forgot my password

Sign in at /auth with Google or email + password. Forgot your password? Use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in screen — we’ll email a reset link. The mobile app supports Google Sign-In natively.

How do I unsubscribe from the digest?

Open My Space → Profile and toggle off email or push digest. Every digest email also has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

How do I delete my account?

Send a deletion request from the Feedback tab (“Other”, message: “delete my account”) and include the email you signed up with. We process deletions within 7 days and wipe your profile, follows, saved posts, and chat history. You can also email hello@merge.news.

Why don’t I see any new posts in my feed?

If My Space → Feed is empty, you probably haven’t followed any subtopics yet — open Manage and pick at least one. The Home tab always shows everything regardless of follows. If both look empty, post generation may be paused — ping us on Feedback.

Why am I being asked to sign in?

Save, Follow, the daily digest, and CloudBot all need a logged-in account so your selections persist across devices. Reading the feed is free and signed-in users don’t see house ads (after upgrading).

Something looks wrong / a link is broken

Sorry about that — please report it on the Feedback tab with the article title or a screenshot and we’ll fix it fast.

Is my data private?

We store your email, display name, follow list, saved posts, chat history, and digest preferences — nothing else. We never sell or share with advertisers. See the Privacy page in the footer for the full policy. Contact hello@merge.news to request a data export or deletion.
