NC AI Launches VARCO 3D 2.0, Drastically Cutting 3D Asset Creation Time
NC AI, a prominent multimodal artificial intelligence company, has officially unveiled VARCO 3D 2.0, marking a significant leap in generative AI for 3D asset creation. This next-generation AI service is engineered to produce high-quality 3D models directly from input images or text, drastically streamlining the content creation workflow. The company announced on June 24th that VARCO 3D 2.0 has completed its development and is slated for service launch in July.
A core focus of VARCO 3D 2.0's development was to overcome the primary limitation of existing 3D generative AI: the distortion of original shapes. Previous iterations often struggled with maintaining the integrity of detailed structures, leading to models that deviated significantly from the source. NC AI claims that VARCO 3D 2.0 effectively mitigates this problem, allowing for the faithful reproduction of complex decorative elements and precise overall proportions. This improvement ensures that objects with intricate designs, such as characters, creatures, and architectural structures, can be accurately rendered while preserving their intended aesthetics.
The enhancements in VARCO 3D 2.0 extend to visual completeness and texture quality. The model now supports high-quality textures up to 4K resolution, capable of realistically rendering colors, materials like metal and wood, fine surface patterns, and even wear and tear. This level of detail means that the generated 3D assets are production-ready for a wide array of applications, including industrial simulations, gaming, and video content, without requiring extensive post-processing.
Benchmark performance also demonstrates the model's superiority. VARCO 3D 2.0 achieved a Uni3D score of 0.449, representing an approximately 40.8% improvement over its predecessor, version 1.1 (which scored 0.319). This score also surpasses other leading global open-source models, including Trellis2 (0.436), Ultrashape (0.428), and Hunyuan3D 2.1 (0.427). Furthermore, the model recorded top performance in key metrics such as CLIP-N and ULIP-2. The company highlights that this innovation can reduce the time taken to create 3D assets from several weeks to just a few minutes, offering substantial efficiency gains for creators.
Existing users of VARCO 3D will be able to access the 2.0 model within their current service environment without additional procedures, ensuring a seamless transition. NC AI's CEO, Lee Yeon-soo, emphasized that VARCO 3D 2.0 is set to revolutionize content creation by providing unique shape retention and high-quality texture expression.
