UNESCO and LG AI Research Launch Global MOOC to Operationalize AI Ethics

UNESCO, in collaboration with LG AI Research and hosted on Coursera, has officially launched a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) titled 'Global MOOC on the Ethics of AI'. This initiative is designed to translate the high-level ethical principles outlined in UNESCO's Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, endorsed by 193 countries, into practical, actionable steps for a global audience. The course emphasizes moving beyond theoretical understanding to equipping learners with the skills to apply ethical considerations throughout the entire AI development and deployment lifecycle, from initial product development to ongoing service operation. This development is significant for several reasons. For cloud and DevOps professionals, it underscores the growing imperative to integrate ethical considerations directly into the CI/CD pipeline and operational practices.
