CB Insights Unveils 2026 List of 100 Most Promising AI Startups

CB Insights has published its highly anticipated 'AI 100' list for 2026, identifying the world's most promising private artificial intelligence startups. This year's selection underscores a significant industry trend towards early growth and robust market validation, with a strong focus on companies that have moved past conceptual stages to deliver tangible solutions. A key finding from the analysis is the dominance of Series A ventures, which account for 60 of the 100 featured companies. These startups are characterized by having successfully proven their products address real-world problems and are now strategically focused on expanding their customer base, refining their business models for scalability, and building out their sales and marketing capabilities. Among the highlighted companies is 7AI, a US-based firm specializing in autonomous AI agent swarms for security automation. Founded by former Cybereason CEO Lior Div, 7AI secured a substantial US$130 million Series A round in December 2025, just ten months after emerging from stealth. The company aims to utilize this capital to bolster its AI security engineering and go-to-market teams. In 2025, its platform reportedly processed over 2.5 million alerts and 650,000 investigations, significantly reducing investigation times and nearly eliminating false positives. Another prominent startup is Switzerland's DeepJudge, which offers AI-powered knowledge search and document retrieval platforms for law firms. Founded by former Google researchers with PhDs in AI, DeepJudge serves elite firms and boasts high active usage rates. The company raised a US$41.2 million Series A in November 2025 to further product innovation, expand its partner ecosystem, and scale internationally. StackOne, a UK-based company, is also recognized for its work in building unified APIs. The overall landscape of the 2026 AI 100 list also highlights the surge of AI applications in financial services, the maturation of the agentic AI sector, and the emergence of physical AI solutions.
