Datadog launches more than 100 features at DASH to push autonomous AI ops

At its annual DASH 2026 conference, Datadog Inc. introduced more than 100 new features, focusing heavily on enhancing its Bits AI agents for autonomous operations across the entire software development lifecycle. This strategic expansion is a direct response to two critical pressures facing enterprise technology today: the accelerating pace of code generation that human teams struggle to manage, and the increasing sophistication of attacks powered by artificial intelligence. Datadog's solution emphasizes greater automation and comprehensive visibility to counteract these trends. The core of these new offerings is the expanded Bits AI suite, which now incorporates various modules such as Bits Detection, Agent Evals, Infrastructure, Code, Release, Data Analysis, Testing, and Chat. These additions empower the AI agents to detect, investigate, and remediate problems autonomously. The system is designed to continuously scan infrastructure, recommend fixes, and even resolve issues within pre-established operational boundaries. A notable new feature, Agent Eval, allows Bits AI to debug and generate fixes for other AI agents, enhancing the self-sufficiency of AI-driven systems. These Bits AI capabilities are integrated into existing enterprise tools like Slack and Anthropic PBC's Claude, ensuring seamless adoption within current workflows. Beyond operational efficiency, Datadog also addressed security concerns with the introduction of AI Guard. This new product is specifically engineered to combat prompt injection and agent poisoning attacks, which are growing threats in the AI landscape. AI Guard combines agent telemetry tracing with behavioral anomaly analysis to effectively identify and block sophisticated attacks that might bypass simpler, single-prompt checks. Datadog highlighted the danger of malicious prompts turning well-intentioned agents into vectors for sensitive data leaks, underscoring the importance of robust AI security. Furthermore, Datadog is tackling the rising costs associated with massive log volumes through its "Bring Your Own Cloud" initiative, which allows customers to deploy the Datadog platform within their own environments. This approach helps manage data retention expenses while maintaining full visibility. The company also introduced Bits Agent Builder for creating custom AI agents for automated remediation and reporting, and Agent Console for centralized monitoring of AI agents and developer tools like GitHub Copilot. These innovations reflect Datadog's belief that operational control and robust observability, rather than just model quality, will be key differentiators in the AI era.
