The Chrome team's primary objective is to reduce friction in the development workflow, allowing creators to focus on building innovative and impactful experiences. This is being achieved through several key initiatives, including expanded store permissions, modernized platform APIs, and the introduction of AI-integrated tooling. The momentum in extension development is evident, with monthly developer registrations more than doubling over the past year.
