Scality and OVHcloud accelerate European digital sovereignty with new cloud storage offering

Scality, a prominent leader in data infrastructure software for the AI era, and OVHcloud, a leading European cloud provider, announced a significant expansion of their technology partnership today. This collaboration introduces a new joint storage platform specifically engineered to address the growing demand for European digital sovereignty and to power the most intensive AI workloads. The solution aims to provide organizations with complete control over their sensitive data, thereby reducing dependence on external hyperscalers, particularly those based in the U.S. The newly launched platform integrates Scality's high-performance, S3-compatible object storage solutions, such as Scality RING and Scality ARTESCA, with OVHcloud's On-Prem Cloud Platform (OPCP). This combination allows for the deployment of massive, resilient object storage directly within customers' on-premises infrastructures. OVHcloud's OPCP further enhances this offering with cloud-native orchestration, a comprehensive managed services catalog, and automated deployment capabilities. This architecture is designed to operate independently of foreign public cloud providers, ensuring data residency and compliance with European regulations. A key focus of this partnership is to enable AI close to the data. The Scality object storage is GPU-direct compatible and optimized for AI data pipelines, making it ideal for training models, running MLOps pipelines, and deploying AI applications in near real-time. This on-premises approach ensures that organizations can leverage the power of AI without compromising data security or regulatory compliance. The platform is built to deliver uncompromised performance and cyber resilience, crucial for mission-critical data in sectors like medical records, financial transactions, and industrial telemetry. The alliance also extends beyond on-premises deployments to include a dedicated storage offering on OVHcloud Bare Metal infrastructure through the HGR-STOR range. This comprehensive approach ensures that companies can scale their AI projects effectively while maintaining stringent control over their data. Both companies share a conviction that sovereignty is not an obstacle to innovation but rather a prerequisite, providing a secure and robust foundation for AI initiatives in Europe.
