Pinecone Expands Serverless Vector Database to New AWS Regions and Enhances Builder Plan

Effective July 1, 2026, Pinecone's serverless indexes are now available in two new strategic AWS regions: eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) and ap-southeast-1 (Singapore). This expansion is a direct response to the growing demand for localized data processing and storage, allowing organizations to deploy their vector databases closer to their user bases. Previously, the Builder plan was geographically constrained, limiting serverless index deployments exclusively to the `us-east-1` AWS region. With this update, the Builder plan now boasts multi-region and multi-cloud support, enabling developers to provision serverless indexes across all generally available cloud regions on AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure. This unprecedented flexibility allows developers to select the most optimal cloud provider and region based on their project's specific needs, whether for performance, cost, or regulatory compliance, without the necessity of upgrading to higher-tier plans. Furthermore, the Builder plan's resource limits have been considerably increased, providing more capacity for ambitious projects. Developers on this plan can now manage up to 10 serverless indexes, a significant jump from the previous limit of 5. The storage capacity per organization has been doubled to 10 GB, and the number of namespaces per index has been expanded to 100, up from 20.
