UBTECH Launches UWORLD U1, the World's First Full-Size Mass-Produced Ultra-Bionic Humanoid Robot

UBTECH Robotics has officially launched its UWORLD U1 series, a groundbreaking line of full-size ultra-bionic humanoid robots designed for mass production. This significant announcement was made during the company's 2026 Global Launch Event held in Shenzhen on June 30, 2026. The UWORLD U1 series represents a pivotal step in UBTECH's long-term vision for human-robot symbiosis, aiming to integrate advanced robotics into daily life beyond traditional industrial applications. The new series features three distinct models: the U1 Lite, a semi-torso edition; the U1 Pro, a high-performance full-body robot; and the U1 Ultra, a high-dynamic full-body variant available in both male and female designs. Pricing for these innovative robots begins at 119,800 RMB (approximately $17,600 USD), with the U1 Ultra models reaching up to 990,000 RMB. UBTECH reported an impressive initial reception, with cumulative orders for the UWORLD U1 Series already surpassing 13,361 units as of the launch event. The company has committed to delivering these pre-ordered units within the current year. This strong demand highlights a growing market interest in advanced humanoid robotics for a broader range of applications, signaling a potential shift in the robotics industry towards consumer adoption. James Zhou, Founder, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of UBTECH, articulated a three-stage roadmap for human-robot collaboration. Initially, robots will tackle hazardous and repetitive tasks, freeing humans from dangerous labor. The second stage involves expanding robots into everyday life for companionship and service. Ultimately, the vision is to achieve seamless interaction between humans and intelligent robots. Zhou emphasized that UBTECH is transitioning from a traditional robotics manufacturer to a platform company focused on AI-enabled robotics and intelligent infrastructure. A notable initiative accompanying the launch is UBTECH's commitment to donate 100 customized U1 Series humanoid robots annually to support mental well-being programs. These robots will feature advanced capabilities such as 3D facial reconstruction, voiceprint-based identity replication, emotion-driven interaction models, and long-term memory systems. This is particularly aimed at vulnerable groups, including lonely seniors and children, to provide emotional companionship and psychological support, showcasing the evolving role of robots in societal welfare. The UWORLD U1 Series boasts sophisticated technical specifications, including 88 degrees of freedom and a proprietary dual-pivot biomimetic cervical spine, allowing it to replicate up to 90% of fundamental human movements. The robots are powered by the world's first emotion-aware Large Language Model (LLM) designed for long-term companionship, capable of recognizing over 20 fine-grained emotional states with more than 90% accuracy. This integrated architecture is designed to overcome challenges in real-world humanoid robot deployment, paving the way for more natural and intuitive human-robot interactions.
