Synology Streamlines C2 Portfolio with C2 OneStorage for Unified Hybrid Cloud Management
Synology has unveiled a significant strategic realignment of its C2 cloud ecosystem, marked by the introduction of C2 OneStorage. This initiative is designed to enhance resource management for organizations, ensuring that their cloud investments are more dynamically aligned with their evolving hybrid cloud deployment priorities. The core of this update is the consolidation of several existing C2 Storage offerings into a single, streamlined subscription model.
Previously, users might have managed separate plans for services such as C2 Storage for Hyper Backup, C2 Storage for Hybrid Share, and C2 Object Storage. With C2 OneStorage, these distinct solutions are unified under one subscription, simplifying billing and management. This consolidation is expected to provide organizations with increased flexibility, allowing them to dynamically allocate their purchased cloud capacity across these various C2 solutions as their needs shift. This approach aims to maximize resource utilization and reduce the complexity associated with managing multiple cloud storage services.
Bie-I Chu, Executive Vice President at Synology, emphasized that the goal is to deliver a seamless hybrid cloud foundation that can adapt to customer requirements. Alongside C2 OneStorage, Synology is also rolling out a newly redesigned Synology Account portal. This portal will serve as a central hub for the entire C2 ecosystem, offering administrators a comprehensive overview of their Synology resources. This includes unified management capabilities for system and package licenses, active devices, various services, and partner relationships. While the interface is new, Synology assures that current subscription workflows will remain intact to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting active services.
These strategic updates and service transitions are scheduled to officially commence on June 22, 2026. Synology will also introduce revised pricing models to reflect the consolidated value proposition of the C2 ecosystem. Existing users will receive direct notifications detailing specific migration policies and transition support to facilitate a seamless experience across all affected C2 services.
