ZoomInfo is making a significant investment in its engineering infrastructure by hiring a Senior Software Engineer dedicated to its Internal Developer Platform (IDP), with a strong emphasis on the Backstage framework. This role is pivotal in evolving the company's developer experience and optimizing the software delivery lifecycle. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and developing services across ZoomInfo's extensive microservice Backstage platform, utilizing TypeScript and Node.js. A key responsibility involves managing and enhancing the Backstage catalog and its ingestion pipeline. This pipeline is crucial for syncing entities from various sources such as Helm, ArgoCD, GCP, and GitHub, ensuring that the platform's service catalog remains accurate and up-to-date for developers. The engineer will also be tasked with extending developer-facing features, which includes implementing engineering maturity scoring, refining change management workflows, and integrating AI-generated reports to provide deeper insights into development processes. Furthermore, a significant aspect of this position is the integration of artificial intelligence. The role requires developing LLM-powered services and other AI capabilities that make catalog and engineering data more accessible and actionable for both human developers and AI agents. This strategic focus on AI aims to embed generative AI directly into how developers build, test, and ship software, thereby accelerating innovation and efficiency. Operational excellence is another core tenet of the role, encompassing the ownership of service reliability on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) through ArgoCD GitOps, PostgreSQL, and Redis data stores, alongside comprehensive Datadog monitoring and incident response. The engineer will collaborate closely with various teams, including engineering, governance, architecture, and infrastructure, to translate complex needs into effective catalog models, golden paths, and self-service tooling. This holistic approach ensures that the IDP not only streamlines development but also maintains high standards of security and governance.
