AWS Bedrock AgentCore Integrates OpenTelemetry for Enhanced AI Observability

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, a foundational component for building and managing enterprise-grade agentic AI applications, has significantly enhanced its observability and evaluation framework. Announced on May 27, 2026, the platform now integrates natively with OpenTelemetry, a vendor-neutral standard for telemetry data. This integration is a critical development for organizations deploying complex AI systems, as it provides unparalleled visibility into the intricate workings of agentic AI. AgentCore Observability is designed to capture a rich array of telemetry data, including traces, logs, and metrics, for every aspect of an AI agent's execution. This encompasses individual agent invocations, calls to various tools, and interactions with underlying large language models. Crucially, this observability extends to complex request flows where a single user query might fan out to multiple remote agents or tools across different AWS accounts, providing an end-to-end view of the entire process. This continuous evaluation, conducted both online against live production traffic and offline with curated test sets, establishes a vital feedback loop.
