Akamai and NVIDIA Partner to Embed Zero Trust Security in AI Factories

Akamai and NVIDIA are deepening their strategic alliance to tackle the critical security challenges emerging within high-performance AI environments, often referred to as AI factories. The core of their expanded partnership is to embed Zero Trust security principles directly into the underlying infrastructure, ensuring that AI workloads, sensitive data, context memory, and autonomous agents are protected without compromising the speed and efficiency essential for AI operations. This integrated approach leverages Akamai Guardicore Segmentation, a microsegmentation solution, in conjunction with NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX and the NVIDIA DOCA software platform. By doing so, the collaboration establishes a robust, infrastructure-level security framework specifically designed to meet the escalating demands of agentic AI systems. The companies emphasize that this architecture moves Zero Trust enforcement from an add-on product to a core infrastructure capability. The initiative directly addresses the growing concern that AI factories are becoming vital assets, necessitating containment strategies against increasingly sophisticated, LLM-driven cyber threats. Traditional host-based security tools can impede performance in such high-speed environments. By shifting workload-aware segmentation onto NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX and DOCA, the solution aims to enforce Zero Trust at the native speed of AI workloads, thereby helping organizations contain threats before they can propagate across these high-performance systems. The integrated Guardicore Segmentation and NVIDIA BlueField solution is anticipated to be available in the second half of 2026, with further integration with NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX on storage and infrastructure partner platforms expected in the first half of 2027. This partnership underscores a proactive step towards securing the foundational data and operational integrity of the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
