Gemini Live Expands Android Integration with More Connected Apps

Google's Gemini Live on Android has rolled out a substantial update, significantly broadening its integration capabilities with various "Connected Apps." It now supports a comprehensive list of Google services such as Google Home, Flights, Hotels, Workspace, Shopping, YouTube, and YouTube Music. Additionally, popular third-party applications like Spotify are also included in this expanded connectivity. This broader integration empowers users to perform a wider range of tasks directly through Gemini Live. Examples include playing music, managing travel details, and controlling smart home devices. A particularly useful addition is the support for utilities, enabling Gemini Live to set timers and alarms on Android phones, making it a more practical tool for daily routines. While these updates bring Gemini Live's functionality nearly on par with the full Gemini app experience available on the web, one notable feature, the ability to send messages via voice commands, which was previously announced, is still pending.
