OutSystems and AWS Partner to Deliver New AI Capabilities for Enterprise Agentic Systems

OutSystems has announced an expanded collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to introduce a comprehensive suite of new artificial intelligence capabilities designed to empower enterprises in developing and deploying "agentic systems." This strategic partnership aims to tackle three critical obstacles that often hinder successful AI adoption within large organizations: the fragmentation of AI models, the burden of technical debt from outdated legacy systems, and the imperative for stringent governance in AI-native software development. The collaboration leverages the OutSystems platform alongside AWS's robust cloud infrastructure and advanced AI services, providing enterprises with enhanced control over their agentic system deployments and management. Woodson Martin, CEO of OutSystems, emphasized the significance of this architectural evolution, stating that the partnership seeks to eliminate the friction between an organization's legacy past and its AI-driven future. The goal is not merely to accelerate development but to lay the groundwork for an entirely new generation of governed business systems. A key component of this rollout is the introduction of Legacy Modernization Services, powered by AWS Transform. This AI-accelerated tooling is specifically designed to translate aging platforms, such as those built on COBOL and Lotus Notes, directly into high-performance, modern agentic systems that operate on the OutSystems platform. This initiative directly addresses the long-standing challenge of legacy technology stalling enterprise innovation, by leveraging autonomous AI to shift the economic calculus of modernization. Furthermore, the partnership includes a native integration of the OutSystems Agent Experience with Kiro, an Agentic Development Environment provided by AWS. This integration allows developers to continue working within their preferred coding environments while ensuring that all systems built are inherently reliable, secure, and governed by design. OutSystems is positioned as a "Kiro Power," enabling developers to seamlessly build and orchestrate the entire development lifecycle within their platform. The new suite of Agentic AI Solutions also features agentic orchestration tools and industry-specific software built on Amazon Bedrock. Amazon Bedrock serves as AWS's primary conduit for offering access to various foundation models and associated management tools. By utilizing Bedrock, OutSystems aims to mitigate model fragmentation, providing enterprises with greater flexibility in selecting and switching between different AI models for diverse tasks. Availability for these new solutions varies, with Legacy Modernization Services powered by AWS Transform entering a preview phase for select customers, and expanded AWS Transform integration capabilities anticipated in Q3. The native integration with Kiro is also available in a private preview. Agentic orchestration capabilities are generally available to existing customers, with an Agentic Banking Solution for Loan Origination slated for an early Q3 launch.
