Huawei Unveils Full-Stack Data Infrastructure for AI Data Centers, Emphasizing Agents

At the Huawei Innovative Data Infrastructure (IDI) Forum 2026, Huawei unveiled its full-stack data infrastructure solution specifically tailored for AI data centers (DCs), aiming to significantly accelerate industry intelligence. Yuan Yuan, Vice President of Huawei and President of the Huawei Data Storage Product Line, highlighted the transformative role of AI in enterprise operations, particularly emphasizing that AI agents are rapidly becoming a core engine for new digital productivity. These agents are envisioned as evolving into integral "digital employees" within organizations. The rapid proliferation of AI applications is leading to an unprecedented surge in enterprise token consumption, necessitating a fundamental shift in existing IT architectures towards AI DC data infrastructure. Huawei's solution proposes a systematic planning and construction approach centered around several critical pillars: robust data lakes for massive storage, advanced AI data platforms, powerful compute capabilities, sophisticated models, flexible agent frameworks, and comprehensive data resilience strategies. A significant aspect of the new infrastructure is its focus on data security. Huawei stresses the importance of building an end-to-end data protection solution to mitigate potential risks across agents, models, platforms, and the underlying infrastructure. This includes safeguarding against tool misuse, data poisoning, tampering, and ransomware attacks, ensuring the all-round protection of valuable AI data assets. The company's offerings within this solution include high-density OceanStor Pacific Scale-Out Storage, capable of delivering 11 PB capacity in a compact 2U space, which aims to provide massive data storage at an optimal total cost of ownership. Additionally, DME Omni-Dataverse, Huawei's unified data space solution, is designed to support multimodal, cross-site, and real-time data management. Yuan Yuan underscored that "AI is unlocking new opportunities for the IT industry," and declared that "The next chapter of AI is data." Huawei is committed to continuous technological innovation in data storage, leveraging its experience in industrial AI adoption, and collaborating with the broader industry to help customers navigate and accelerate their journey into the intelligent era.
